5. The 1968 L88 Corvette
The Corvette always looked fantastic from every angle but the L88 took it one step further with a top speed of 170mph from a race bred 550 bhp motor. At the time GM didn’t really want to sell it to so called “normal” buyers so they offered the car with no aircon or radio. But sell it did because  if you wanted the fastest Vette in the car park this was the one for you! Aggressive? Oh yes!
4. The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
If you couldn’t quite afford the Shelby Mustang then Ford offered this baby. It was still expensive at the time due to the semi-hemi 429 engine that Ford wanted to use in NASCAR. It wasn’t the fastest car off the start line either, but when it came to high speed cruising it was king!
3. 1970 Plymouth Hemi-Cuda
The baddest of all Barracudas this baby could smoke with just a slight tickle of the pedal. Boasting a  0-60 time of less than 5.6 seconds from its unique 426 engine (the only one with hemispherical heads) and a sound that would scare children in the next street this car was cool personified.
2. The 1969 427 COPO Chevelle
Now this car was a special order vehicle that had a limited production run of only 320 cars. The 450 bhp muscle car was fitted with a 427 V8 and as with GM, Chevrolet didn’t really want to push the car to the masses. However, once again some very lucky people got to own one of the best muscle cars ever  built.  If you see one kneel before it!
1.. The 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
The true all American classic. The Cobra S/C was about putting as much power through the chassis as you dare with a whopping 480 bhp under foot. It had a European feel to the design but apart from that it was all muscle. The standard Cobra is a tricky beast at the rear at the best of times so with that much power on hand you’d need to be careful especially as you’d be driving a car worth more than 5 Million Dollars. Wow.!
